Android KitKat 4.4.2 update rolled out for Samsung Galaxy S4 in India
Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S4 in India can rejoice as the South Korean manufacturer has started rolling out the Android KitKat 4.4.2 OS update for the device. An official announcement confirming the same has not been made, but some users reported that they have already received the downloadable OTA firmware upgrade.
A member of the XDA Developers forum who goes by the name of Sneghi posted screenshots that confirm that the said Samsung smartphone in India is indeed being upgraded to the latest version of the Android OS. According to the picture (posted below), this software's size is 353.59MB and it brings a number of enhancements as well.
Thanks to the upgrade, your music's album art will appear on the lock screen when music is being played on the phone and you will even be greeted with a new launcher setting menu. Bug fixes are in the offing and you can even expect a better interface with Android KitKat. Even though an official announcement confirming the update has not been made, we already knew that it is coming and had reported about it back in January.
Some of the other devices which have also started receiving the update include Moto G, some Sony smartphones including SP and Galaxy Note 3 amongst others. Micromax Canvas smartphones were also supposed to be upgraded to the new version, but there's no availability date in sight.
