It's been a long, long, time, but Star Wars is finally coming to Netflix.

It's been a long, long, time, but Star Wars is finally coming to Netflix.

The entire series of Cartoon Network's Emmy-winning The Clone Wars will land on the streaming service starting March 7, including the much-anticipated final episodes that never previously aired. The deal includes the director's cuts of seasons 1 through 5, plus the 13 unreleased episodes from a sixth season, which have been dubbed 'The Lost Missions.' Also in the package is the Star Wars: The Clone Wars feature film.

The deal represents the first Star Wars content to be made available on Netflix's streaming service. As part of the multi-year deal, Netflix will have the exclusive rights to the Clone Wars series. The deal follows a recent announcement between Netflix and Star Wars-owner Disney to create original series based on Marvel characters for the streaming service. ' Stars Wars is one of the most iconic franchises of all time and this series joins a long line of Disney content that Netflix members are and will continue to enjoy for years to come,' said Ted Sarandos, Netflix chief content officer.

Here's an official description of the final Clone Wars episodes: 'Some of the deepest mysteries of the conflict between the light and the dark sides of the Force are revealed. An intrepid clone trooper discovers a shocking secret, Anakin Skywalker's closest relationship is tested to its limits and what Master Yoda discovers while investigating the disappearance of a Jedi could forever change the balance of power in the galaxy.'

Clone Wars is set during the time period of Episode II and II in the Star Wars timeline. The show was popular, with its 5th season averaging 1.7 million viewers on Cartoon Network. But after Lucasfilm completed its Star Wars sale to Disney, the production company announced it would no longer create episodes for the cable channel, resulting in those 13 'lost' episodes. Later, Disney announced a new animated series, Star Wars Rebels, would be made for its Disney XD network.
