Brother of Nancy Motes' fiancé alleges suicide could have been an act of revenge

Happier times: Julia Roberts with half-sister Nancy MotesJulia Roberts was rocked tonight by a new claim that her half-sister may have taken her own life in a bid to derail the star's chances of winning an Oscar next month.
Nancy Motes, 37, took an overdose after writing a suicide note which allegedly contained accusations about the Pretty Woman star she wanted to be made public.
And Conner Dilbeck, the brother of Nancy's fiancé John, believes Roberts' troubled half-sister wanted to bring the star down.
Dilbeck, 40, said: 'We are talking about people who are powerful. People who have very delicate power, people who are in the limelight. Their power can be destroyed very easily if unfortunate things make them look more wicked.
'They have to be careful, it can destroy their career or their Academy Awards.'
He claimed Julia's behaviour caused 'pure cruelty' on her sister and that Nancy's suicide note was eight pages long - not five as has been reported.
Julia is said to be 'terrified' about it coming out.
Dilbeck added John was overcome by the 'horror' of seeing his fiance's lifeless body in the bath.
Julia, who cancelled her attendance at the Oscar nominees lunch on Monday, is up for Best Supporting Actress for August: Osage County on March 2.
The claims came as it was reported the 46-year-old star had tried to save her half-sister numerous times by getting her to go to rehab.
Authorities recovered both prescription and non-prescription drugs at Motes' Los Angeles home after discovering her body in a bath.
'Julia tried in vain over the years, even in the last six months, to get Nancy to go to rehab,' a source told celebrity website RadarOnline.
'Nancy refused the offers and that is when she would often publicly lash out at Julia. It hurt Julia, but she knew her sister was battling addiction.'
Nancy, a former production assistant on TV show Glee, shared the same mum Betty Lou as Julia, actor Eric Roberts, 57 and actress Lisa Roberts Gillan, 48.
Betty was previously married to Walter Grady Roberts before divorcing him and giving birth to Nancy with second husband Michael Motes.
Julia shot to fame playing hooker Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman when Nancy was just 13.
However their relationship was often strained. In August, she gave an interview claiming the Erin Brockovich star often teased her about her weight.
