Kyle Lowry is called for perhaps the worst offensive foul ever
First, Kyle Lowry gets snubbed from the All-Star Game. Now, this.
And this is beyond rational explanation.
The Toronto Raptors point guard made an enormous three-pointer to bring his team to within three 25.5 seconds left Wednesday night in a road game against the Sacrament Kings. This was an All-Star play from a player deserving of the All-Star Game.
But, no, he didn't make anything, it turns out. See, referee Michael Smith decided that Lowry kicked his legs out too much on his follow through and tripped up Kings guard Ben McLemore. That merits calling an offensive foul.
Except ... Lowry didn't really kick his legs out much at all.
That seems pretty much like his normal follow through. But let's see what Lowry's reaction was to the play before we decide.
So the icing on the cake? Running away from the referee apparently was worthy of a technical foul. And that was Lowry's sixth, meaning he fouled out with his team down six points and 25.5 seconds left. And the Kings had the ball and a free throw.
The Kings won 109-101. So ... yeah.
