Nike will introduce self-tying 'power laces,' as worn by Marty McFly in Back to the Future Part II.

In the 1989 movie, the power laces became a reality in 2015. Sure enough, next year is when Nike will unveil the laces, confirmed Nike designer Tinker Hatfield to Sole Collector, a site dedicated to 'sneaker culture.'

The power laces worn by McFly automatically lace up once he slips his feet into the high top sneakers.

It's unclear if the power laces will be introduced with the Nike Air MAG. Nike introduced the MAG in 2011 as an exact replica of the high-top sneakers worn by Marty McFly but without power laces. The MAG illuminated by pinching the 'ear' of the high top and glowed for fives hours per charge.

Nike auctioned 1,500 pairs of the MAG for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
