Nokia Treasure Tag and Nokia Lumia, the safer, smarter way to travel
The Nokia Treasure Tag has been announced and is here to help you on those occasions when you have left the house only to remember half way down the street that you've forgotten something. This neat little Bluetooth device designed to keep your valuables, such as keys, your bag, or even your wallet, safe and sound.
The Nokia Treasure Tag is a neat little gadget that has been designed to work in conjunction with your Nokia Lumia smartphone to keep your valuables safe. Simply attach the Treasure Tag to something of value and then download the Nokia Treasure Tag app from the Nokia Collection and when it and your smartphone are apart you'll be alerted you've left it behind.
The Nokia Treasure Tag itself measures just 30 x 30 x 10mm, making it roughly the size of a match box and weighs in at just 13g, so is perfectly compact and small enough to be a part of your every day carry kit.
It works using NFC, or good old Bluetooth, to pair your Nokia Lumia smartphone and the Treasure Tag, then when they are parted the two will give off a loud tone to let you know you've left something behind.
Each Tag connected to your Lumia can be placed onto your Start screen as a Live Tile and be colour coded to match your Tag, giving you updates on when the tag was last seen. Nokia Treasure Tag takes advantage of Bluetooth LE and will work with al Nokia Lumia smartphones that have the Lumia Black update.
The Treasure Tag is powered by a standard coin cell type battery and will easily for up to six months from a single charge, so once it's up and running you can simply forget about it.
The Nokia Treasure Tag is set to be on sale in April for around €24.90 and be available in four colours: cyan, yellow, white and black.
What do you think, is the Nokia Treasure Tag the gadget you've been waiting for to help you keep track of your valuables?
