Did somebody say DOOM?
In Wolfenstein: The New Order the Nazis win the war, rule the world. Starting May 20 B.J. Blazkowicz takes the world back. Yes, MachineGames and Bethesda have now announced Wolfenstein's release date, May 20 for North America and May 23 for Europe. The modernization of one of the most popular first person shooter franchises ever is just three months away. The Nazis will be preparing, so will you?
By preparing I of course mean preordering, which Bethesda plans on rewarding fans for. Everyone preordering Wolfenstein will gain access to the DOOM beta. What, what, what? DOOM? Beta? Expect more information on whatever that may be to pop up soon. Soon as in now; perhaps Bethesda has some sort of website with more information available for that sort of thing.
As far as trailers go, Wolfenstein's 'Boom Boom' is basically everything a fan of the franchise could want. There's a good selection of Nazi's being straight up disturbed, murderous psychopaths, a good selection of very memorable characters both on the Nazi's side and on B.J.'s rebellion's side (General Deathshead is just straight up terrifying), and then a solid minute of dual-wielding machine guns and tearing through cyber-dogs and Nazi officers. Man, Wolfenstein brings out a side of me I haven't seen since the early 1990s. It's exciting... and also mildly disturbing.
Bring on Wolfenstein: The New Order! Launching on May 20 in North America, May 23 in Europe, Wolfenstein will be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Preorder and get access to the mysterious DOOM beta. Look at General Deathshead. Does that look like a face you want to let rule the world?
