ZTE to debut 6in Android phablet and Firefox OS device at MWC
CHINESE PHONE MAKER ZTE clearly isn't one for keeping secrets, as it has revealed what we can expect from it at next week's Mobile World Congress (MWC).
The firm got in touch with The INQUIRER on Tuesday to tell us what it has up its sleeves for next week's mobile technology show in Barcelona. Its most important announcement will be the ZTE Grand Memo II LTE, which seemingly will follow in the footsteps of the Nokia Lumia 1320 by offering a large 6in display to those on a tight budget.
Beyond the 6in screen, ZTE hasn't coughed on what we can expect from the Grand Memo II LTE, but it will run an updated version of the firm's custom user interface skin on top of Google's Android mobile operating system.
ZTE has also revealed that it will launch another Firefox OS device at MWC, the ZTE Open C.
ZTE Mobile Devices CEO Adam Zeng said, 'This year, we are looking to work even more closely with our customers worldwide to develop the products they want and deliver a superior customer experience.
'They have told us that they want ever more innovative and high-performance products, so at MWC 2014 we are delivering this with the launch of two new high-profile devices, the ultra slim Grand Memo II LTE with 6 inch screen and the ZTE Open C in partnership with Mozilla and Telefonica.
'We expect 2014 to be our strongest year yet - and we're putting our customers at the heart of everything we do to help us achieve that.'
We'll be at MWC next week, so check back for all the latest. µ
