A contestant on the new season of 'The Bachelorette' died Wednesday after a paragliding accident left him in a coma over the weekend.
Eric Hill, one of the men competing for Andi Dorfman's heart on the upcoming season of the ABC reality show, was hospitalized in critical condition Sunday, after his parachute apparently collapsed while paragliding in Utah.
'Friends: Eric has been in a horrible paragliding accident and is currently in critical condition in a coma,' a Facebook update for his organization, The Global Odyssey, read.
On Wednesday his sister Karen Tracy shared the sad update.
'Eric shared his final journey with us this morning as all his immediate family were able to be at his side when he passed away,' she wrote on her Facebook page.

'Thank you to all of your love and support and prayers and fasting. It was amazing to be with so many of his friends and family yesterday in the hospital who came to express their love for Eric. He gave us such a gift of a life fully lived and fully shared, and allowed us all to be a part of his last adventure here on earth.'
Hill's organization, with the tag 'GO with Eric,' was founded based on his desire to travel to every country in the world in fewer than 1,200 days, according to the page. He apparently began the adventure in February 2013.
Hill was also known to be an extreme sports enthusiast.
'Although he was wearing all of the appropriate safety gear at the time of the accident, and is well-trained in paragliding, his parachute partially collapsed, sending him into the mountainside,' reads an update to a BuzzFeed community page, created in his honor.
Last month the California native revealed he would be embarking on a 'different kind of adventure' by appearing on 'The Bachelorette.'
He had been eliminated from the show when the accident occured, People magazine reported.
''It is hard to think of life without his bright spark, but we know he is on to new adventures,' his sister added on Facebook.
'We look forward to carrying on his legacy here and greeting him joyfully again someday. I love you so much, little brother!'
