David Wain has given comedy fans ' Wet Hot American Summer,' ' The State,' ' Stella,' ' Role Models' and more, and for his next trick? He's taking on rom-coms with ' They Came Together,' and the results looking promising.
Starring Amy Poehler and Paul Rudd, and penned by Wain and frequent collaborator Michael Showalter, the genre spoof (of sorts) follows knick-knack shop owner who crosses paths with a company man, whose firm is trying to shut her store down. What happens next? As our review out of the Sundance Film Festival attests, it's something with ' a silly, goofy smile and a sharp, savage bite.' And featuring a roster of solid co-stars including Max Greenfield, Ed Helms, Michael Ian Black, Cobie Smulders, Ken Marino, Jack McBrayer, Kenan Thompson, Jason Mantzouakas and more, this thing has comedic ringers at every turn.
