Mets dump John Lannan and his 15.75 ERA to make room for Daisuke Matsuzaka

The lefty long man for the Mets, was outrighted Wednesday, clearing the way for Daisuke Matsuzaka to rejoin the Mets.
Lannan, who made the team out of spring training, was brutal in just five appearances with the Mets, pitching to a 15.75 ERA, allowing seven earned runs and three home runs in just four innings of work.
Matsuzaka, who lost out on the fifth starter spot to Jenrry Mejia on the final day of spring traning, has a 2.25 ERA in 12 innings of work at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Matsuzaka will work out of the pen, but could be forced into a starting role with Bartolo Colon's next start in jeopardy due to a back issue.
Also, Mejia had to leave Tuesday's game after five inning with a torn blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand.
