TV Ratings: 'Game of Thrones' Loses No Steam in Second Week
Game of Thrones remains in enviable shape for the second episode of its fourth season. A week after premiering to a record-breaking 6.6 million viewers, the HBO drama notched its second-biggest episode to date with 6.3 million viewers.
Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones, which dispatched one of the series' central characters, was off just 2 percent from the premiere by the end of the night. It took in 8 million viewers with a 11 p.m. encore. Compared to the second episode last season, the show was up a massive 48 percent.
News of Game of Thrones continued dominance comes with some less-than-stellar cable news for Mad Men. The premiere of the series' seventh and final season took a big hit in its return, averaging just 2.3 million viewers. Head-to-head with Mad Men, the second episode of Silicon Valley averaged 1.7 million viewers.
