An upstate fast food worker is in hot water after showing legendary singer Aretha Franklin no r-e-s-p-e-c-t.

The unfortunate incident unfolded Tuesday at a Johnny Rockets restaurant in Lewiston near Buffalo.

A worker screamed at Franklin after she sat down to eat a hamburger that she had ordered to go, the singer's spokesman said.

The worker, who was likely unaware she was dealing with the Queen of Soul, told Franklin she couldn't eat inside the restaurant because she had ordered takeout, the spokesman said.

The 72-year-old singer had stopped at the eatery after performing a sold-out show at the Artpark Outdoor Amphitheater in Lewiston.

In a statement, Franklin said the Johnny Rockets employee was 'very rude, unprofessional and nasty.'

A Johnny Rockets spokeswoman said the franchise owner is sorry for the actions of 'a new and very young employee.'

She added that the owner has spoken with the employee and has clarified his takeout policies.
