Lady Gaga Really, Really Likes Wearing Robes Lately
Lady Gaga's tour of robes has yet to see an end in sight. In the last two months, the Artpop star has undergone another transformation, and this might be the most shocking yet. Outside of performances for her ArtRave, Gaga's wardrobe seems to be overcome with flowing fabrics, undefined waists, and little to no skin exposed. Where are the fishnets? The strange prosthetics? All of the props? Let's take a closer look at Ms. Germanotta's outfits:

We had an earlier post comparing and contrasting both Mother Monster and Rihanna in similar pink robes. Little did we know that this was the 'canary in the coal mine' of the Gaga that we know and love. Gaga wore her Alon Livne silk robe with a heavy smokey eye, and nude stiletto sandals for a surprise performance with Tony Bennett at the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in New York City. It wasn't until we saw her wear another robe, this time a kimono-inspired wrap with red high heels, that we started putting the pieces together. She wore this to a yoga class in Toronto, by the way. No biggie.

The fushchia kaftan that she stepped out on July 27, confirmed our suspicions. Gaga had reached full-on Elizabeth Taylor realness. Her sunglasses, shoes and earrings are on point. Are those white diamonds?

Later that night, she and Tony arrived at the Tony Bennett Jazz Event in NYC. He in a smart black suit, and red pocket square, and she in another loosely-draped gown from Alon Livne. However, it was embellished in crystals, featured a plunging neckline, and was neatly accessorized with an adorably tiny ballerina bun.

And then she appeared with Tony this morning in a very Marina Abramović-esque outfit. Of all her robes, this one seems especially appropriate for the event and appropriate for lying on a couch and we are totally behind that combo.
