Nicki Minaj may have tried to insist that all is ok between her and Iggy Azalea, despite her alleged dig at this year's BET Awards, but Iggy's beau, Nick Young, has now hinted that the feud is very much still a thing, with him saying that people are simply 'scared' of his girlfriend's success.

In her acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist at the June 29 awards bash, Nicki seemingly made a dig at Iggy, who has previously been rumoured to have had ghost writers help with some of her tracks.

The rapper said, as part of her speech: 'What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is, that when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.'

And although Nicki has since taken to Twitter to say that she's spoken to Iggy about the success of her single, Fancy, Iggy's boyfriend insists that she still has a problem with his other half's popularity.

Nick told the New York Daily News newspaper's Confidenti@l column: ''Iggy is doing big things and that is what is scaring people.

''She is going to brush it off. She won't let it get to her. She is number one -- what can you do? She's at the top right now, so of course they are going to come at you,' he then said of the alleged dig.

At the time, Iggy pretended that she wasn't bothered about the 'feud', but Nick insists that this wasn't necessarily the case.

He said: ''I had to deal with the aftermath of all that, when she came home and was going through her phones, hearing everybody talking trash about her. I had to be there for her.''

Nick and Iggy have been dating for almost a year now, and the LA Lakers player said that he always does his best to de-stress his girlfriend when work gets a bit too much for her.

He told the publication: ''We always hang out and try to get her mind off what is going on out there on the news. ''We go roller-skating, to theme parks and Six Flags and try to have a good time and do down-to-earth stuff. We have sweats on, hoodies on at Six Flags, just us two, and you will never know [who we are].''
