Nick Young re

The Los Angeles Lakers have re-signed free agent swingman Nick Young to a four-year contract worth $21.5 million, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports.

The news comes just hours after the team added point guard Jeremy Lin via a trade with the Houston Rockets and in addition acquired a first-round pick. Young will return to his hometown team after being its leading scorer last season with 17.9 points per game in 64 contests. In a season marred with injuries, uncertainty and poor play on the floor, Young provided constant energy and scoring punch while coming mostly off the bench.

A Los Angeles native, Young embraced the 'Swaggy P' moniker and was visibly happy as a member of the Lakers. Though he can be an erratic shooter at times, he improved at the defensive end and showed a fair amount of versatility in a contract year.

The 29-year-old will now enter his 30s in purple-and-gold and be a part of the Lakers' future after playing on a one-year contract last season.
