Satya Nadella to make major modifications in Microsoft's organizational set

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella sent a `Vision Memo' to all Microsoft employees last week, hinting at some drastic changes which he will likely to announce in the coming days. The changes will apparently include some noteworthy modifications in the organizational set-up of Microsoft.

In his memo to the employees, Nadella said that Microsoft's business will predominantly be directed on developing tools which will help the company make optimum use of the time that consumers spend in the mobile-first, cloud-first world --- a world in which Microsoft, at its core, is the productivity and Platform Company.

Although the memo hinted at an apparent shake-up of Microsoft's organizational structure, Nadella did not specifically mention any plans of making any reduction in its workforce, which currently included 99,000 employees.

The memo clearly conveyed Nadella's message that Microsoft has efforts underway to shift its focus from developing software for PCs devices and services to mobile and cloud technology.

Nadella said in the memo: 'The Company must be bolder and more ambitious as it tries to stay competitive in the always shifting tech industry. Our industry does not respect tradition, it only respects innovation.'
