A.J. Green carted off from Bengals practice with toe injury
The Bengals could be without their star wide receiver against the Carolina Panthers.
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green left the practice field on Wednesday in a cart after appearing to aggravate the same toe injury that caused him to miss nearly the entire game in Week 2 against the Atlanta Falcons.
During the period of practice open to the media, Green appeared visibly upset on the field as he tore off his helmet and his shoe in disgust while stretching with his teammates. He was able to walk on his own, but with a limp, and then departed from the field after getting looked at by trainers. He did not return to practice.
No further details about the injury are known at this time. Green has caught 17 passes for a team-high 314 yards and two touchdowns this season. If he can't play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver Mohamed Sanu figures to become the feature wideout in the offensive gameplan.
