First State drivers continue to enjoy falling gas prices

Delaware gas prices tumbled again this week.

AAA Mid-Atlantic reports the average price for a gallon of regular in Delaware fell four cents from $2.87 a week ago to $2.83. Prices at the pump in the First State fell over 25 cents in the past month. First State drivers are paying 10 cents below than the national average, which fell six cents to $2.93 this week.

Last week, the national average sank below $3.00 for the first time since December 2010. In the last month, the national average dropped by 33 cents.

AAA expects that prices will stay low through the winter and may even drop an additional 5 to 15 cents per gallon in the next few weeks. That would leave prices during the Thanksgiving holiday at their lowest in 5 years.

Delawaregasprices.com reports there are over a dozen stations across the state selling a gallon of regular for $2.73 or slightly less - all in New Castle County.
