An Ohio State football player with a history of concussions went out for a walk at 2 a.m. Wednesday and hasn't been seen since, according to family alarmed at the emotional state of the senior defensive tackle.

Kosta Karageorge, 22, a first-year walk-on who has appeared in one game this season for sixth-ranked Ohio State, was reported missing after he missed practices on Wednesday and Thanksgiving morning, the Columbus Dispatch reported.

Roommates told family Karageorge went out for a late-night walk from their apartment, less than a mile from the Columbus campus.

'He had some extenuating circumstances that night that lead us to believe he was upset,' sister Sophia told the Dispatch. She said her brother didn't even take his wallet.

The sister also told NBC4 that Karageorge has a history of sports-related concussions and the family 'fears he may be disoriented.'

Ohio State University Police tracking his phone traced his steps to the Grandview area of Columbus, on the opposite side of campus, but have yet to locate the cellphone or Karageorge.

The 6-foot-3, 273-pound Karageorge, an Ohio native, had won 35 matches in three seasons on the Buckeyes wrestling team before trying out for the storied football program in August.

Ohio State faces rival Michigan in the regular season finale Saturday at noon, a game in which 24 Buckeyes' seniors - including Karageorge - are set to be honored.

The school has yet to make a statement.

Ohio State (10-1) already has a berth in the Big Ten championship game and wins in consecutive weeks could catapult the Buckeyes into the inaugural College Football Playoff.
