James Cameron: The 'Avatar' sequels are going to be awesome
Avatar and Titanic director James Cameron is not one for modesty - so we're not sure if his recent vote of confidence for his upcoming Avatar sequels leaves us excited or cold.
In an interview with Empire Magazine, Cameron enthusiastically hyped up his next three Avatar sequels. We won't see the first sequel until 2016, but Cameron promises that they will live up to the success of the first one.
I can tell you one thing about them. They're going to be bitchin.' You will (expletive) yourself with your mouth open.
So eloquent.
But he did give Empire a few more details about how he balanced the work for all three films with his writing team (the movies will be shot back-to-back).
I think we met for seven months and we whiteboarded out every scene in every film together. And I didn't assign each writer which film they were going to work on until the last day. I knew if I assigned them their scripts ahead of time, they'd tune out every time we were talking about the other movie.
