MacLaren to direct Wonder Woman
Gal Gadot will play Wonder Woman on the big screen
Michelle MacLaren is to direct the Wonder Woman film.
The director, who has worked on TV shows such as Breaking Bad, Game Of Thrones and The Walking Dead, is to develop and take the reins on Warner Bros' upcoming film, said the Hollywood Reporter.
She would be the first woman director to take on a superhero movie in the recent DC or Marvel franchises. Patty Jenkins had previously been linked to Thor: The Dark World but was replaced by Alan Taylor when she left.
Gal Gadot will reprise the role of the DC character in the spin-off, after making her debut as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice in 2015.
Insiders say that Michelle will work closely with writers to create a script for the movie, which would be released in 2017.
Other female filmmakers that Warner Bros studio had meetings with for the job included Jennifer Kent and Lesli Linka Glatter.
Joss Whedon was the last director attached to the film, which has been in development for nearly two decades, but decided against it in 2007.
