Microsoft Offers Office 365 for Free on Multiple Devices:

On Friday, downloads of Microsoft Office skyrocketed when Microsoft announced that their Office mobile app, now available with all of the features that used to be unique to Office 365 subscription holders.

Microsoft also announced its new goal, deliver the Office experience on small screens with no Office 365 subscription. The subscription is currently no longer required to edit, create, or view content on your iPhone or iPad, with an updated offering of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as part of its Office for iPad app as well. This is a complete difference from previous Microsoft Office apps where consumers could only view documents, not create new ones or edit any that are existing. However, only Office 365 customers have access to the 'advanced editing' and unlimited storage offerings.

If you are an Android user that wants to be able to use Office 365 as well, don't worry, as Microsoft announced that the app will be available on Android tablets as early as 2015. It is available now as a preview phase, though, and if you are interested, you can sign up for a preview. This will be Microsoft's first foray into bringing Office apps to Android tablets, and is only widening the scope of their goal.

If you downloaded Office 365 before the announcement, though, don't worry. The technology giant also announced that they are offering refunds to anyone who downloaded the app before it became free. There are only five rules to get the refund: you have to apply for it; you have to have only bought either a home or personal subscription; you have to have purchased the app on or after March 27th; you must activate your subscription before November 6th; and you have to request the refund by January 31st of 2015.
