Prisco's NFL Week 10 Best Bets: Dolphins over Lions, Megatron

I hate losing weeks like I had last week.

Time to regroup, but you can only play it one week at a time, one pick at a time.

OK, so that was coach-speak. And I hate coach-speak, so you know I was kidding.

I went 1-2 last week, with the only winner being the Steelers to cover, but I also picked them to win outright -- extra credit? But I lost with the Texans and the Giants plus the points. They weren't really close.

This week, like last, I am going back to the dogs. I like three of them as I try to get back on track.

The season record is now 16-10-1. That's not good enough. I smell a sweep this week. Or is that just the garbage?

49ers (+5.5) over Saints: The 49ers lost at home last week to the Rams, so this line is inflated. The Saints are good at home, but this 49ers team is tough. They will come in and pound the football to stay in it. It's a tight one. Give me the points.

Bills (+2) over Chiefs: The Bills are coming off a bye, so they will be rested. This is a game that matches two good pass rushes. But the edge is always to the home pass rush with the crowd noise. I think that shows up here. Look for the Buffalo defense to come up big in this upset victory.

Even with Calvin Johnson back, the Dolphins defense should cause problems for Detroit. (USATSI)

Dolphins (+3) over Lions: The Dolphins defense is playing at a really high level right now and that travels, as they say in the NFL. Ryan Tannehill is also playing well at quarterback. The Lions are coming off a bye, and Calvin Johnson is back, but I think Cameron Wake and company will create big problems for Matt Stafford. Dolphins win it outright.
