HBO sets premieres for 'Girls,' two new series
New shows fill out pay-cable network's winter slate.
HBO has set January premiere dates for the third season of Girls, starring Lena Dunham, and two new series.
Girls returns with back-to-back episodes Jan. 12 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following the premiere of True Detective, a drama starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The series follows two Louisiana detectives on a 17-year hunt for a killer in a case that begins in 1995 and is reopened in 2012. Michelle Monaghan plays Harrelson's wife.
A week later, Jan. 19 at 10:30 ET/PT, HBO debuts Looking, a half-hour series about three San Francisco friends 'who explore the fun and sometimes overwhelming options available to a new generation of gay men,' the network says. Jonathan Groff ( Glee), Frankie Alvarez and Murray Bartlett star.
