Allen Iverson announced his retirement on Wednesday, and had some strong words for his critics throughout his career. In particular, he called out those who criticized his clothes, tattoos and iconic cornrows.
Iverson's look was controversial, and a large part of why the NBA adopted a dress code in 2005. But some of the appeal of the NBA comes from its players' abilities to be individuals. Iverson's look was his look, and he's right to be unapologetic now that his career is coming to an end.
