Indy-Based Tech Expert Calls Apple Announcement a 'Consistent' Move

Apple unveiled Tuesday it's new iPad Air along with new MacBook laptops and the new Mac Pro desktop.

Dave Arland with Arland Communications in Indianapolis says there were likely some people who were disappointed with Tuesday's unveiling because they were expecting a brand new product. However, Arland says it's a very consistent move by Apple because they know the iPhone and iPad are the cornerstones of their business.Arland says battle lines have clearly been drawn between Apple and companies like Samsung and Microsoft. Microsoft also announced Tuesday its new Surface tablets and Samsung has been moving up in the market with its Galaxy smartphones and Note tablets.Arland says we could possibly see brand new products sometime in 2014. However he believes Apple will stick to its business model of not announcing those products until they are ready for sale.
