Miami 27, UNC 23: Tar Heels let one slip away
- North Carolina suffered a 27-23 defeat against Miami on Thursday night. This was a gut-punch of a loss for the Tar Heels, who led 23-13 early in the fourth quarter before allowing Miami two long scoring drives.
The last of those went 90 yards, and ended in Dallas Crawford's game-winning touchdown run in the final seconds.
This wasn't all on the defense, though. UNC converted just one of its five trips in the red zone into a touchdown. The Tar Heels also endured a bizarre delay of game penalty on a 3rd-and-inches near midfield with less than six minutes to play, and then punted. Which set up Miami's final drive.
What a way to lose.
In addition to the story linked above, some others:
--UNC rotated quarterbacks Bryn Renner and Marquise Williams and it worked with some success.
-- And how about Tar Heels tight end Eric Ebron?
