Undefeated Missouri Topples No. 7 Georgia
Receiver Bud Sasser threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to L'Damian Washington in the fourth quarter after quarterback James Franklin left with a shoulder injury, and No. 25 Missouri held off No. 7 Georgia's comeback attempt to upset the Bulldogs, 41-26, on Saturday in Athens, Ga.
Missouri (6-0, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) led by 18 points in the first half before Georgia (4-2, 3-1) cut the lead to 28-26 in the fourth quarter.
The Tigers answered the challenge with two late touchdowns despite losing Franklin to a shoulder injury.
After Franklin was taken to the locker room, the freshman backup Maty Mauk threw a lateral to Sasser, who stopped and tossed a deep pass to the end zone for Washington. Washington had 115 yards and 2 touchdowns.
NEBRASKA 44, PURDUE 7 Ameer Abdullah ran for 126 yards and a touchdown to help Nebraska defeat host Purdue.
Terrell Newby ran for 61 yards and Imani Cross added 56 yards and 2 touchdowns for the Cornhuskers (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten).
Nebraska held Purdue (1-5, 0-2) to 216 yards, and the Boilermakers didn't score until the final minute of the game. Purdue ran for just 32 yards on 25 carries.
SO. CAROLINA 52, ARKANSAS 7 Connor Shaw threw for 219 yards and accounted for four touchdowns as No. 14 South Carolina dominated host Arkansas.
Mike Davis added 128 yards rushing on 19 carries for the Gamecocks (5-1, 3-1 Southeastern Conference), who won their fourth straight game after a loss to Georgia on Sept. 7.
The all-American defensive end Jadeveon Clowney returned after missing last week's game and had one tackle for South Carolina.
The loss was the fourth straight for Arkansas (3-4, 0-3).
VIRGINIA TECH 19, PITTSBURGH 9 Logan Thomas threw an early touchdown pass, Cody Journell kicked four field goals and No. 24 Virginia Tech sacked visiting Pittsburgh's Tom Savage eight times.
The Hokies (6-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) won their sixth straight game and ended a four-game losing streak against the Panthers (3-2, 2-2).
MICHIGAN STATE 42, INDIANA 28 Jeremy Langford scored four touchdowns, and host Michigan State (5-1, 2-0 Big Ten) recovered from an early defensive breakdown to beat Indiana (3-3, 1-1). Tevin Coleman scored on a 64-yard run for the Hoosiers (3-3, 1-1) just 61 seconds into the game, but the Spartans took control shortly after halftime.
ARMY 50, E. MICHIGAN 25 Terry Baggett ran for four touchdowns - including a 96-yard score - and a team record 304 yards, the most in Division I this season, as host Army came back to beat Eastern Michigan for the fifth time in six games.
Larry Dixon added 69 yards and a score for the Black Knights (3-4), who went up 22-15 on Trenton Turrentine's 1-yard touchdown with 9:46 left in the second.
Tyler Benz was 17 for 26 passing for 223 yards, 2 touchdowns and an interception for the Eagles (1-5). Bronson Hill ran for 143 yards and a touchdown.
DUKE 35, NAVY 7 Anthony Boone threw three touchdown passes in his first game back from injury and host Duke (4-2) beat mistake-prone Navy (3-2).
Boone, who missed three games with a broken collarbone, was 31 of 38 for a career-high 295 passing yards for Duke (4-2).
ST. FRANCIS 28, MONMOUTH 10 Bishop Neal and DaQuan Minter each returned a first-quarter turnover for a touchdown as St. Francis (2-4) topped Monmouth (3-4).
