Chicago will host NCAA Frozen Four, gymnastics championships

The United Center will host the 2017 Frozen Four, the NCAA announced Wednesday.

Chicago will also be host city for the 2018 NCAA men's gymnastics championships. That event will be April 19-21, 2018, at the UIC Pavilion.

The Frozen Four, the finals for men's Division I hockey, will be held from April 6-8, 2017.

The NCAA announced 523 sites that have been awarded as hosts for 82 of its 89 championships for the 2014-18 seasons, making it the largest collection of host site announcements in association history.

Illinois will also be host to future Division III men's and women's indoor track and field championships: In 2016, the March event will be held at Illinois Wesleyan's Shirk Center in Bloomington; in 2017, the event will be at North Central's Res Rec Center in Naperville.
