Giants' Manning exits with ankle injury

East Rutherford, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning did not return for the start of the second half of Sunday's season finale against the Washington Redskins after injuring his ankle late in the second quarter.

Manning came up limping after being hit by Redskins' lineman Chris Baker on an incomplete pass with around a minute remaining in the half. He stayed in the game and had his next attempt intercepted by Josh Wilson, then walked gingerly to the sidelines before being helped to the locker room just before the intermission.

Curtis Painter replaced Manning on New York's initial drive of the second half.

The interception was Manning's league-leading 27th of the season. He completed 10-of-24 throws for 152 yards and a touchdown prior to departing.

A Denver Broncos fan says he thought he might die when he was stabbed five times outside Sports Authority Field after the Chargers-Broncos game Dec. 12.

The Colts have put starting defensive linemen Ricky Jean Francois and Cory Redding and starting offensive lineman Mike McGlynn on the inactive list for Sunday's game against Jacksonville (4-11).
