Verizon serves Android 4.4 to Droid Ultra, Maxx, Mini
The Motorola trio are the carrier's latest Androids to pick up the KitKat update.

Verizon on Thursday announced that the Motorola Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini are receiving Android 4.4 updates. The trio of smartphones are among the first carrier-branded smartphones to pick up the most recent version of Android.
As expected, the update brings about features such as full-screen mode, color emoji support, enhanced security, and an improved camera. Also included are support for the Fitbit tracker and Motorola's DroidZap 2.0 software.
Verizon, for its part, took the update as an opportunity to upgrade apps and services like Verizon Tones and Verizon Mobile Security. Rounding things out, the Droids see Google Photo and NFL Mobile 8.2.3 getting folded into the suite.
The updates will be rolling out in stages, starting today. Anxious users are encouraged to keep an eye on their notification bar for the over-the-air update; it's also possible to manually initiate the software bump. To do so, just navigate your Droid to Settings > About phone > System updates > Download, and tap for the latest release.
