David Cassidy's wife Sue files for divorce

'I'm glad David is getting the help he needs, and I am confident he will come back better and stronger than ever,' Sue said about the 63-year-old 'Partridge Family' alum's ongoing battle with alcohol abuse.

However, Sue did not indicate whether his battle with addiction was the reason behind her filing for divorce from the former child star.
In January he was arrested for a DUI, his third, in Los Angeles and checked into rehab shortly after, where he currently resides.

The couple, who married in 1991, has been together a total of 28 years and has one son, 23-year-old Beau Devin Cassidy.
While Sue did not confirm the exact reason why they decided to divorce after more than two decades together, she did say it wasn't an overnight decision.
'This has been looming for some time,' she said, as the couple has reportedly been living apart for the last four months.
Still, Sue is grief-stricken over the outcome of their longtime relationship.
'I am truly heartbroken that our marriage is ending,' she said.
