Facebook Colour Changer Virus Affects More Than 10000 Users

Over 10,000 Facebook users in different countries were affected by virus in a guise of an app that sway users change the color of their Facebook profile.

China-based company Cheetah Mobile said the Facebook color changer app is passing malicious 'colour change' malware to customers' phones as well as computers.

It has been addressed by Facebook but it has appeared again. The app has made several appearances over the past couple of years, including in 2012 and 2013.

The scam begins by promoting an app that entices Facebook users to change the color theme of their profile. If the user downloaded the app and you will be rerouted to a malicious phishing site.

If you are already infected by the virus, you should immediately uninstall the app and change your Facebook password to prevent scammers from accessing more of your personal data or using your account to trick your friends.

Cheetah Mobile recommends turning off Facebook's apps platform, and installing a security app.
