Kings of Leon set to play first concert since Nathan Followill's rib injury
Kings Leon will play their first show on Sunday in Philadelphia since their drummer, Nathan Followill, suffered a rib injury.
Earlier this month, the band had to postpone their tour and later cancel some dates after Followill broke his ribs when their tour bus had to quickly stop when a pedestrian walked in front of the bus.
While Followill recovered from his injury, the Kings of Leon announced that all shows over a two-week period in August were to be canceled.
Now it appears the drummer is finally feeling better and is ready to return to playing. The band is set to headline the second night of the 'Budweiser Made in America' festival this weekend, newsandtalking.blogspot.com reports.
On Friday, Followill's brother Caleb said Nathan was 'doing good' and noted he would be wearing protective gear on his ribs.
'He has this protective gear that he's wearing that's there to help him,' the lead singer explained. '[On Thursday], we went in [to rehearsal] and we kind of loosened up a little bit, played five or six songs. [On Friday], we went in and played more, but by the end of it he was definitely tired.'
The cut short tour for the Kings of Leon will conclude on Oct. 5 when they visit Irvine, California.
