Team USA's Colangelo: World Cup team 'by far' better than 2010 squad

USA Basketball chairman Jerry Colangelo said the U.S.'s 2014 World Cup team is much better than the 2010 squad that won the FIBA World Championship in Turkey, according to a report from ESPN's Marc Stein.
'By far,' Colangelo told ESPN.com. 'Because we have a couple of Olympic gold medalists on this roster in Anthony Davis and James Harden. We have three players from that team in 2010 in Steph Curry, Derrick Rose and Rudy Gay. And they're not 21 this time. They're 23 or 24. A little bit older and more mature.'
FIBA World Cup Teams In Team USA's Path
The 2010 team featured zero players from the squad that won the 2008 Olympic Gold Medal in Beijing but included talented young stars such as Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook.
The World Cup team is headlined by Golden State James, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry, Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden and New Orleans Pelicans center Anthony Davis. The U.S. is the heavy favorite in the tournament despite a host of NBA stars not participating -- including LeBron Paul George, Kevin Love, Westbrook and Durant.

Team USA's first game of the World Cup, which is being held in Spain, is Sunday against Finland.
The other members of the USA's group besides Finland are Turkey, the Dominican Republic, New Zealand and Ukraine.
