Upcoming Sony Phones 2014: New Flagship Gets Disassembled Ahead Of IFA ...

Just a week before IFA officially kicks off, one of the upcoming Sony phones for 2014 appeared in a disassembly video, and it's none other than the Sony Xperia Z3 flagship.

For the previous weeks, we have heard and read reports that the new Sony flagship will boast almost identical specs to its predecessor, the Xperia Z2 which was launched only several months ago during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

In the video, we can see some of the Z3's parts which include a more rounded design compared to previous Xperia flagships. The sharp edges and corners are now gone and taking their place are smoother edges which should be a welcome addition to Sony fans.

Getting curved and smoother edges will also make the phone more manageable to hold even with one hand, compared to previous editions.

Sony may have also cut down the top and bottom bezels of the device, which should make it a little more compact compared to other Sony flagships in the past. Side bezels are incredibly thin and probably the thinnest we have seen in a Sony-made smartphone.

Aside from the design, another change is the battery capacity which is slightly lower than the 3,200mAh battery of the Xperia Z2. The breakdown the Z3's battery to just 3,100mAh.

As far as specs are concerned, reports claim that the Sony Xperia Z3 will be just the same as the Xperia Z2, and will boast specs which include a 5.2-inch Triluminous display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and Sony's 20.7MP camera which is a staple feature among its flagship devices.

Let's see whether Sony will impress us with some surprises for its new high-end Android phone come the IFA showcase next week.
