Halapio is a sixth-round draft pick out of Florida.

'Back to the drawing boards. Time to refocus and plan the next move,' the 6-foot-3-inch, 320-pound guard tweeted Saturday morning.

Last week, teams had to cut rosters to 75. The Patriots dropped DT Tommy Kelly, DLs Will Smith and Ben Bass, LBs James Anderson and Deontae Skinner, DBs Jemea Thomas and Travis Hawkins, WRs Derrick Johnson and Wilson Van Hooser, and TE Justin Jones.

And in a stunning move Tuesday, the Patriots traded veteran offensive lineman Logan Mankins to Tampa Bay for tight end Tim Wright and a fourth-round draft pick.

The Patriots finished the presason with a 2-2 record and open the regular season Sept. 7 in Miami at 1 p.m. Their first home game comes in Week 3 against the AFC West Oakland Raiders.
