Forbes' NFL team rankings: Cowboys most valuable at $3.2B

Everyone knows that, but with the Bills up for sale -- and reports of multiple bids north of $1 billion -- people are curious as to how much NFL teams are actually worth.
According to Forbes, the most valuable team in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys, is worth $3.2 billion.
The financial magazine/site usually cranks out one of these lists every few months (it feels like) but it's certainly appropriate right now. And, frankly, the Cowboys estimate feels kind of conservative.
Jerry Jones team is considered the second-most valuable team in all of sports, behind only Real Madrid ($3.4 billion) and significantly ahead of the second-most valuable team in football, the Patriots, who Forbes valued at $2.6 billion.
Apparently winning is overrated.
Yup: the Redskins are third, valued at $2.4 billion. The top five is rounded out by the Giants ($2.1 billion) and the Texans ($1.85 billion).
The Rams ($930 billion) and Bills ($935 billion) are the least valuable teams. Here's the complete list:
What this list doesn't factor in, of course, is the nearly impossible nature of actually buying an NFL team. There are only 32 of them and, as we can see with the Bills, the price is going to get driven up because you can't just go to a store and pick one up.
The guess here is if the Cowboys hit the market they'd fetch close to $5 billion.
This is also a good time to remember that, no matter what you think of his football acumen, Jerry Jones is as good a businessman out there as there is.
