Human Trafficking Conference to be held by several US attorneys

US attorneys Brendan Johnson of South Dakota, along with Timothy Purdon of North Dakota, are planning to hold a conference to last for 3 days this next week. The aim of the conference is to raise awareness regarding human trafficking and to identify the possible victims of the said crime.

According to Johnson, most people tend to believe that human trafficking is an issue which originated from abroad, although various cases have involved victims which are abducted locally. He even noted that 20 individuals were known to commit such crime and were filed with such charges in his office for the last 4 yours - 2 of which were subjected to lifetime sentence.

The said conference is to be held in Sioux Falls, South Dakota starting from Tuesday and will end on Thursday. The first phase of the conference, which is to be hosted by various medical professionals, will focus on identifying victims as well as some ways to properly approach them.
