There were a lot of soaking wet celebrities in Hollywood this week, but it was all for a good cause.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a monthlong campaign to raise money and awareness of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Those who are challenged either have to donate $100 to The ALS Association, or get showered with a bucket of ice-cold water and in turn issue the challenge to three other people .

Since kicking off last month, the social media endeavor has raised over $10 million, the non-profit announced Saturday.

Oprah was just the latest A-lister to take part after being challenged by movie mogul Tyler Perry. She posted an Instagram video on Friday which shows her getting doused by her best friend Gayle King.

'Scandal' star Kerry Washington represented her cast in taking the Ice Bucket Challenge. She was a good sport to take two buckets, since her show received two challenges, one from Disney CEO Bob Iger and the other from 'Grey's Anatomy.'

In fact, Shonda Rhimes' other two dramas also got involved. The cast of 'Grey' Anatomy' dumped buckets on their heads wearing their medical scrubs, while the cast of newbie drama 'How to Get Away With Murder' did so in sweats.

The stars of ' The Voice' took part as well, with mentors Adam Levine, Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly each getting soaked with an ice-cold bucket of water.

And Ben Stiller made it a family affair, taking the challenge with wife Christine Taylor as their two children dumped buckets on their heads.

Other celebs who've taken part include Justin Timberlake, 'Modern Family' stars Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson, talk show hosts Conan O'Brien and Andy Cohen, 'Today' hosts Matt Lauer and Hoda Kotb, Emmy Rossum, Ansel Elgort, Keith Urban, and Elizabeth Banks.

The Daily News got involved earlier this week, with reporters Gersh Kuntzman and Justin Rocket Silverman taking the challenge, and in turn issuing it to issuing it notable New Yorkers including NY1's Pat Kiernan, Lena Dunham, Chrissy Teigen, Donald Trump, Mayor de Blasio and Jimmy Fallon.

Kiernan, Teigen and Fallon all accepted, with the 'Tonight Show' host taking the challenge on his show Tuesday (besides the Daily News, he also received the challenge from New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, New York Jets owner Woody Johnson and his pal Timberlake).

Which A-lister will get doused next? Oprah has challenged Steven Spielberg and Helen Mirren, Stiller called out Judd Apatow and Ricky Gervais and Washington issued a challenge to Jimmy Kimmel.
