SEC Network releases schedule of recurring programming


The time has nearly come for the much-anticipated debut of the SEC Network on Aug.14 and fans will be excited to know that more information concerning the network's schedule has been released.


In a lead-up to the opening game of Texas A&M at South Carolina on Aug. 28, the network will present viewers with a 14-day marathon of content, according to a release from ESPN. Each day of the marathon will be dedicated to one of the 14 SEC schools in a showcase that otherwise would have been limited to sharing time with other sports on the 'Mothership' ESPN.


The first two weeks of air for the network will also feature a Heisman Trophy special and four SEC All-Access specials, according to the release.

The SEC Network will be a massive production endeavor, covering over 1,000 events in the first year, according to the SEC Network. This will be done out of a network effort to, 'Showcase its commitment to elevating sports across the conference with both men's basketball and women's soccer events airing on the television channel,' according to the SEC Network release.


Recurring weekly programming will feature:

SEC Now - This will be a form of 'Sportscenter' for the network. The show airs at 7 p.m. ET on Monday and Tuesday and begins at 9 p.m. on Thursday and Friday


The Paul Finebaum Show - Paul Finebaum will have his famous radio show on the network, weekdays 3-7 p.m.


SEC in 60 - re-live two games in a one- hour format


Film Room - The network meets with a different head football coach in the SEC for a film session.
