Baylor, Trailing Early, Trounces Oklahoma, 48
Corey Coleman set career highs of 15 catches and 224 yards to help No. 10 Baylor get a landmark win by rolling past No. 16 Oklahoma, 48-14, on Saturday in Norman, Okla.
It was the most receptions ever by a player against the Sooners. Coleman also caught a touchdown pass and ran for another score as the Bears (8-1, 5-1 Big 12), who trailed by 14-3, maintained their conference and national title hopes.
Quarterback Bryce Petty, who repeatedly said he was 'ready for O.U.' after the win over Kansas the week before, proved it by completing 32 of 42 passes for 387 yards and a touchdown. It was Baylor's first road win in 12 tries against the Sooners (6-3, 3-3), and the Bears' first road win against a ranked team since Art Briles took over as head coach in 2008.
Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight was carted off the field after being sacked in the fourth quarter.
GEORGIA 63, KENTUCKY 31 Hutson Mason threw a career-best four touchdown passes, Nick Chubb rushed for 170 yards and a touchdown, and No. 17 Georgia defeated host Kentucky.
Coming off last week's loss to Florida that knocked the Bulldogs (7-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) from the playoff picture, they responded with their second-highest point total this season to remain in the SEC East hunt.
Georgia scored touchdowns on nine of 10 possessions behind one of Mason's most efficient efforts as a starter. He completed 11 of his first 13 passes including the touchdowns, two of which went to Chris Conley for 15 and 4 yards. Jeb Blazevich caught two touchdown passes from Mason and the backup Brice Ramsey, and Malcolm Mitchell caught one.
Chubb and Sony Michel added scoring runs of 18 and 24 yards. Isaiah McKenzie returned the kickoff 90 yards for a score and a punt for another touchdown.
MISSISSIPPI 48, PRESBYTERIAN 0 Bo Wallace threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as No. 12 Mississippi snapped a two-game losing streak with a win over visiting Presbyterian.
Wallace was 11 for 15 for 140 yards, including scoring passes of 66 and 23 yards to Vince Sanders, and ran for a 9-yard score as the Rebels (8-2) built a 35-0 halftime lead.
WISCONSIN 34, PURDUE 16 Joel Stave threw two touchdown passes and Melvin Gordon ran for 205 yards as No. 25 Wisconsin rolled past host Purdue.
The Badgers (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) have won four straight overall and remained in a three-way tie atop the conference's West Division. Wisconsin has won nine straight in the series and has not lost at Purdue since 1997.
The Boilermakers (3-7, 1-5) lost their fourth straight.
MINNESOTA 51, IOWA 14 Maxx Williams caught three of Mitch Leidner's four touchdown passes, and host Minnesota ran for 291 yards in a romp past Iowa.
The Gophers (7-2, 4-1 Big Ten) smothered the Hawkeyes for a season-low 84 yards rushing and swarmed the visitors' sideline when it was over to hoist the Floyd of Rosedale trophy, a heavy bronze pig the teams have played for since 1935. They moved back into a first-place tie with idle Nebraska in the Big Ten West Division, with a road game against the Huskers looming in two weeks. Wisconsin is a half-game back, and the Gophers finish this grueling month with a trip to play the Badgers.
The Hawkeyes (6-3, 3-2) opened the game with a short touchdown run by Mark Weisman, one of three third-down conversions during that 76-yard drive. Bit Weisman managed only 21 yards on 14 carries.
PENN STATE 13, INDIANA 7 Sam Ficken kicked a 27-yard go-ahead field goal and Penn State defeated host Indiana to snap a four-game slide.
Ficken's kick gave Penn State (5-4, 2-4 Big Ten) a 10-7 lead, which he later extended with a 28-yard field goal with less than a minute to play.
Zander Diamont was 13 of 28 for 68 yards and ran for 58 yards for the Hoosiers (3-6, 0-5), who have lost four straight.
DUKE 27, SYRACUSE 10 Anthony Boone threw two touchdowns to Issac Blakeney, Jamison Crowder returned a punt 52 yards for another score, and No. 22 Duke survived another scare at Syracuse.
Boone is 18-1 as the starter for Duke (8-1, 4-1 Atlantic Coast Conference), which won its fourth straight and stayed on target to reach the A.C.C. title game.
Syracuse (3-7, 1-5) lost for the seventh time in eight games and lost a chance to play in the postseason for the fourth time in five years. The Orange finished the season 1-5 at home, their worst record in the Carrier Dome since posting a 1-6 mark under Coach Greg Robinson in 2007.
GEORGIA TECH 56, N.C. STATE 23 D. J. White and Quayshawn Nealy scored defensive touchdowns in the second quarter to help Georgia Tech beat host North Carolina State.
White's 38-yard interception return and Nealy's 43-yard fumble return put the Yellow Jackets (8-2, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) in firm control, blowing open a close game to keep them right behind Duke in the Coastal Division standings.
Synjyn Days ran for 157 yards and a touchdown, while reserve quarterback Tim Byerly ran for two scores and starter Justin Thomas ran for one.
Jacoby Brissett and Matt Dayes each ran for scores for the Wolfpack (5-5, 1-5), who led early but were outscored by 49-3 over the next 35-plus minutes.
DARTMOUTH 42, CORNELL 7 Dalyn Williams threw for three touchdowns and ran for another, Kyle Bramble had a 39-yard scoring run, and Dartmouth beat host Cornell. Williams was 23 of 33 passing for 321 yards, with touchdown throws of 24 yards to Bramble, 32 yards to Victor Williams and 30 yards to Ryan McManus.
Bramble gained 89 yards on eight carries for the Big Green (6-2, 4-1 Ivy League), and had four catches for 68 yards.
Cornell (0-8, 0-5) capped its opening drive with a 48-yard touchdown run by Luke Hagy.
HOLY CROSS 27, LEHIGH 20 Peter Pujals threw for 175 yards and accounted for two touchdowns as host Holy Cross (4-6, 2-2 Patriot League) held on to defeat Lehigh (2-7, 1-3).
