ESPN has another Bill Simmons crisis on its hands after the Grantland editor attacked network colleagues Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg in a furious Twitter rant.

Fresh off a three-week suspension for ripping into NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, Simmons let loose against the 'Mike & Mike Show' hosts on Thursday, calling them 'garbage' for criticizing comments he made the previous day regarding LeBron James.

Golic and Greenberg mocked Simmons for suggesting to fellow ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd that James' early-season struggles with the Cavaliers resemble the ones Albert Pujols went through when he joined the Angels from the St. Louis Cardinals in 2012, which is generally considered the time he ceased being an elite MLB player.

'I think it's one of the most ridiculous statements I've heard four games into a season in my life in any sport,' Golic said.

'That's what I'll say about Bill Simmons. So, you know, he grabbed a headline, which is something I know he loves - and that's one of the most ridiculous lines I've ever heard in any sport in my life. Four games into a season. I don't even ... that's ridiculous.'

For an ESPN Radio show to pull an interview out of context from another ESPN Radio show, then play the moral authority card, is disgusting.

Simmons responded with furuy on Twitter, blasting the duo's 'pathetic' attempt to 'pull an interview out of context.'

'What Mike and Mike did today was absolute garbage. I would say I lost respect for that show, but I never had it,' Simmons wrote in the first of several .

Simmons appears to be in a fighting mood of late, particularly with ESPN. His recent three-week ban came after he publicly challenged his bosses to punish him following a profanity-laced rant against Goodell.

This latest outburst further fuels speculation that Simmons wants out at the network, with whom his current contract expires next year.
