Japan's consumer inflation slowed in October raising skepticism over the Bank of Japan's (BOJ) ability to achieve its 2 percent inflation target.
Nationwide core consumer prices rose 2.9 percent in October from a year ago, data on Friday showed. The rise in the core consumer price index (CPI), which excludes volatile food prices, was in line with analyst expectations in a Reuters poll. In September, core consumer prices rose 3 percent.
Japan's jobless rate declined to 3.5 percent in October, below expectations of 3.6 percent from a Reuters poll and down from 3.6 percent in September.
