It's 'Apocalypse' now for Oscar Isaac.

Fresh off wrapping a major role in the eagerly awaited 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' the 34-year-old actor has been tapped to play the big titular bad guy in the upcoming, 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' the Daily News has confirmed.

He'll have big boots to fill - literally - since the character is considered is a hulking, God-like being in the comic books.

'The level of his power and his threat is larger than anything we've seen in an 'X-Men' movie so far,' screenwriter and producer Simon Kinberg teased to the News last month.

Billed as the first mutant to walk the Earth, the villain made a cameo during the end credits of this year's 'X-Men: Days of Future Past.' The scene, set in ancient Egypt, featured a tease of Apocalypse -- as a youth played by Canadian actor Brendan Pedder, 18 -- building a pyramid by telekinetically moving giant stones.

The Guatemalan-born Isaac's own power level in Hollywood has grown in leaps and bounds even before 'The Force Awakens' hits theaters late next year. His critically-acclaimed credits include last year's Coen Brothers-directed 'Inside Llewyn Davis' and the soon-to-be-released 'A Most Violent Year,' opposite Jessica Chastain.

Directed by Bryan Singer, 'X-Men: Apocalypse,' which returns Jennifer Lawrence's Mystique, James McAvoy's Professor X and Michael Fassbender's Magneto, hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
