Talk about a Sunday bloody Sunday.

Singer Bono and his bandmates in U2 have scrubbed their weeklong 'residency' on 'The Tonight Show' after revealing that the frontman 'injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park.'

In a posting on the official website of the megaselling band, fellow band members The Edge, Adam Clayton and Larry Mullen Jr. said, 'We're one man down. Bono ... requires some surgery to repair (the arm).

'We're sure he'll make a full recovery soon, so we'll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding,' the statement concluded.

It gave no details about the alleged injury.

The band was set to be the house band for 'Tonight Show' host Fallon starting Monday. The gig would help promote the latest album, 'Songs of Innocence.'

The undisclosed injury to Bono is the second mishap in as many weeks. On Wednesday, a hatch blew out on his private plane, forcing an emergency landing.
