Your complete fantasy football guide for Week 12

This week, we can finally say goodbye to byes. As the Carolina Panthers and Pittsburgh Steelers finally take their one-week break, fantasy owners should finally have their rosters close to full strength as the playoffs draw near.

As you get ready for Sunday's action, here's a quick glance at the important information you might have missed leading up to the start of Week 12. (And if your team has already gone into the tank, our new daily game, FantasyScore, is a great alternative.)

So let's start with the questions most fantasy owners are asking.

Who should I start?

The most basic question of them all. The best thing to do is check our updated Week 12 rankings.

Who's in?

- Josh Gordon. Fantasy owners have waited 11 weeks for his suspension to end and now it's time to reap the rewards! Well ... not so fast my friend. There are many variables that can impact his production.

-. He's just learning a new offense after the Minnesota Vikings picked him up off waivers. Jerick McKinnon will remain the starter and feature back, but with Matt Asiata dealing with concussion issues, Tate could see action in goal-line situations. Meanwhile, Tim Heaney takes a closer look at Tate's value beyond this week.

Who's out?

- Jordan Reed. Reed didn't practice all week due to a hamstring injury. The Washington Redskins figure to be playing from behind against the San Francisco 49ers, so Niles Paul should see plenty of targets in Reed's place.

- Dwayne Allen. The Indianapolis Colts tight end left last week's game with an ankle injury and opened the door for Coby Fleener 's 144-yard day. That was the second-highest yardage total for a tight end this season. Fleener could be a top-five option at the position on Sunday against Jacksonville.

- Adrian Peterson. Yes, everyone knows he won't be playing this week - and probably won't be for the rest of the season either. But could he also be out of Minnesota and have already played his last game for the Vikings? It may be the best for everyone, he tells USA TODAY Sports' Tom Pelissero in an exclusive, wide-ranging interview. It's worth a read.

Who's questionable?

- Julius Thomas. The Denver Broncos look like they'll have WR Emmanuel Sanders (concussion) back for this week's game against the Miami Dolphins after he participated fully in practice on Friday. But things aren't looking so good for their star tight end.

John Fox said Julius did not practice. 'We could have called him limited, but it was closer to DNP'

- Lindsay Jones (@bylindsayhjones) November 21, 2014

- Arian Foster. We went down this road last week with Foster only making a token appearance in practice and then being ruled out on game day. Alfred Blue (36 carries, 156 yards) was more than adequate in Foster's place, so expect him to be part of the game plan no matter what happens with Foster.

- Larry Fitzgerald. Another likely game-time decision, the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver is dealing with a knee injury. Unlike Foster, his game is a late-afternoon start at Seattle, so fantasy owners may have limited options if they decide to wait until just before kickoff to make the call.

Every Wednesday, we pick out the most important injuries for fantasy owners and offer advice on how to handle the situations. But as the week progresses, things can change.

The best thing to do is keep an eye on our NFL player notes page and follow our USA TODAY Fantasy Sports staff on Twitter (@Fantasy_Score, @Cory_Bonini, @SteveAGardner, @Tim_Heaney, @Keithdez27).

Where's the extra edge?

- Still torn over which borderline players to sit or start? We examine some of this week's tough calls. (Hint: Start Torrey Smith and sit Jonas Gray.)

- And it certainly couldn't hurt to know this week's studs, duds, sleepers and breakout candidates.

What's FantasyScore?
