Britney Spears has teased fans for weeks about the title of her upcoming record and the singer has now revealed that the anticipated record will be named 'Britney Jean,' admitting that it is a 'term of endearment.'
The 'Work Bitch' songstress is currently in the UK on a promotional trip for the single and album and it would seem she saved the exciting news especially for her British fans after sharing the title of her eighth studio album during an appearance on Capital FM this week.

After announcing the title as 'Britney Jean,' the 31-year-old continued to explain: 'It's a personal album, and all my family, they always call me Britney Jean. It's like a term of endearment, and I just wanted to share that with my fans.'
The album has been heavily produced by her 'Scream & Shout' collaborator Will.i.am but he says the lead single 'Work Bitch' isn't reflective of the rest of the album.
'The album is what the album is, but we felt that song needed to come out to keep the foundation on what Britney represents,' Will.i.am told Billboard.
'But it shouldn't reflect the album - an album is a body of work as a collective. If we had to pick a song like, 'Oh, what song fits every colour of the record', you shouldn't do that... We felt that song represents 'Piece of Me,' that Britney oomph.'

'Britney Jean' will be released on December 3, just two weeks before she kicks off her two-year residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas where she will perform hits from her back catalogue and new album.
