Bulls' Rose expected to play at home Wednesday

DEERFIELD, Ill (AP) -- Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose appears ready to play for the home crowd.

Coach Tom Thibodeau says he expects the former MVP to suit up for Wednesday's preseason game against Detroit, his first appearance at the United Center since he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the 2012 playoff opener.

Rose, who played preseason games at Indiana and against Memphis in St. Louis, missed last season with the injury. He sat out Saturday's game against Washington in Rio de Janeiro because of soreness.

Rose said Monday he could have played but management decided against it. He also said he's been thinking about playing at home 'a lot, especially at night when I'm in bed.'

Center Joakim Noah (groin) is expected to make his preseason debut.
